$93,652 in CIHR Funding for TAFETA
We are pleased to announce that the CIHR Institute of Aging and Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis, in partnership with the Institute of Gender and Health and the Knowledge Translation Branch, has awarded Dr. Martin Bilodeau (Principal Investigator), Dr. Frank Knoefel, Dr. Rafik Goubran, Dr. Heidi Sveistrup and Dr. Christine Yang $93,652 (1 year term) for the project entitled “Identification of changes in bed pressure patterns of supine-to-sit, sit-to-stand and stand-to-sit transfers with healthy and pathological aging.” This funding will allow the team to investigate bed transfers using a new pressure-sensitive mat technology. This technology shows promise in providing information regarding present and future mobility problems amongst the aging population.
